UB LUMINALight as a piece

Light as a piece.

Vintage and space-age glass, rebuilt onto a new industrial body. Every piece is one of one.

The Pieces

No two are alike. When a piece finds a home, it is gone.

The Maker

The shade comes first.

Udi Bechor has been going to flea markets since he was fourteen. What drew him then wasn't lamps. It was anything unique and well made: furniture, lighting, objects most people walk straight past. In time, that eye settled on shades: space-age curves, glass from the fifties. When one can't be found, it's made to order. Either way, the shade comes first.

His other trade is industrial electrical equipment: wiring, machinery, precision that has nothing to do with beauty and everything to do with whether something works. That's the half most people never see. Every body is built to match its shade and nothing else: steel, brass, or stone, whichever the piece calls for. Never the same formula twice. The eye that finds the shade and the hands that know what to build around it rarely belong to the same person. Here, they do.
