HOW THEY ARE MADE
How light becomes a piece.
Each begins with a vintage shade. Udi builds a new body in steel, chrome, brass or raw stone for that shade alone.

No. 018 · Wingspan · 1/1
Two dark cone shades face away from each other across a polished center and rest on two block-like feet.
Finding the shade
The shade comes first. Udi has collected them since he was fourteen: space-age forms and glass associated with the 1950s. A maker, date or origin appears only when it is documented.
Building the body
Each shade sets the terms. Udi builds one industrial body around it, for this piece alone.

No. 006 · Axis · 1/1
A long arm crosses the upright. A dark ribbed shade glows at one end, with a blue cable running along the frame.
Showing the piece
The whole piece comes first. Details—the shade, base, cable and joint—follow. When a fact or view is not confirmed, it stays out.

No. 005 · Karina · 1/1
A tiered pale shade glows above a slim reflective stem and low round base.
